She would be a racist, how dare she think she has the right to dictate on sexual orientation.

Actually, Singapore isn't a free society. It's a police state. Groups must obtain police permits not just to protest but merely to meet in private. Dr. Thio is an unelected member of the Singaporean Parliament; she is an agent of this police state. She is lying when she complains that HER free speech rights have been taken away.

I could use her logic to ban freedom of religion. after all if one religion is accepted so must all be. this would include mutilating the genitals of children, handling poisonous snakes, and ritual murder. Perhaps, Dr. Thio, as a religious fanatic should be locked up on the grounds that she is insane for believing that which is not scientifically demonstrable and, indeed, flies in the face of Reason.

U cannot have freedom of religion without freedom FROM religion. I.e. separation between religion n state. The idea that she would use chrisitianity, a religion that speaks about peace and love, to justify hatred against gays is astounding. Where was the speaker btw? Singapore is a diverse society, Many of em r not christians or even religious. To mention god in parliament and in a secular state is disturbing to me. The speaker should have cut her off.

Having attended prestigious universities in America, I can personally testify that having a degree does not make you more intelligent. Her skill is one of sophistry and misuse of legal reasoning and not one of reasoned debate.

She is a living proof that being awarded a degree is no guarantee of mental sanity.

Not only that, but considering that overpopulation is a global concern, one might consider banning heterosexual sex for that end. Using her logic, of course.
