I do love the emotional style and choreograph that way as well. But it has it's place.But I do so for the appropriate music and concept.Yes, they are twins. They are also very expressive in other pieces of choreography when asked. But yes, the costumes are terrible. I agree with that. I wasn't too fond of them when I saw them. But they were passible on stage from far away. On film in a dark room close up...not so much.

There has been a trend in jazz (and lyrical which exists in only in the competitive dance world) to use elements of modern and contemporary dance. Contemporary jazz and contemporary lyrical dance tell stories in an over-dramatic and emotionally- based style. It is therefore very natural for viewers to expect emotion especially when it has helped make millions of non-dancers to become dance fans.

It has been really great reading everyone's comments over the past year. Thank you so much. I thought it might be the time where I say a bit about this video. This video was made as a on-camera filming exercise. i.e. learning about camera angles and editing dance for film. The dance was choreographed not show emotion.
