NORTEL France on strike / en grève !!

Quelque 200 employés de Nortel France SA étaient en grève, mardi 7 juillet, à Châteaufort, dans les Yvelines, pour réclamer des indemnités de départ supra-légales dans le cadre d'un plan social associé à une liquidation judiciaire. "Nous demandons un plan social acceptable et une trésorerie claire. Nous estimons que nous avons participé à la richesse de la société et nous demandons qu'un pourcentage de cette richesse soit versé aux salariés", explique un délégué syndical CFTC.
Nortel France SA, filiale française de l'équipementier en communication canadien, a été placée en liquidation judiciaire le 28 mai. Le tribunal de commerce de Versailles a assorti sa décision d'une continuation d'activité en vue de revente et a fixé au 19 août la date limite de dépôt d'offres de reprise. Une nouvelle audience est prévue le 20 août.
Le plan social prévoit la suppression de 480 postes sur les 680 que compte le site de Nortel France SA à Châteaufort, où sont regroupées les activités de recherche et développement, les fonctions administratives et opérationnelles ou encore la vente. Une autre filiale de Nortel en France, Nortel Networks France, emploie également à Châteaufort 130 personnes, mais n'est pas concernée par la procédure judiciaire.
Le collectif réclame des "indemnités acceptables", c'est-à-dire "au-delà des indemnités légales de licenciement". "On a prévu de reconduire la grève jusqu'à ce qu'on ait obtenu des garanties acceptables", déclare ce même délégué syndical. Le groupe canadien Nortel, qui compte 26 000 salariés dans le monde, s'est placé à la mi-janvier sous la protection des tribunaux contre ses créanciers au Canada et aux Etats-Unis.

This is finally not only the end of Nortel, but especially the end of the brand Nortel.

No company which will take over a part of Nortel, will be able to use this brand anymore, because everybody in the industry will remember this video.
