Neil deGrasse Tyson: "A clean and honest bit of documentary work. Rare in these times. Congratulations."
"In God We Teach" tells the story of a high school student who secretly recorded his history teacher in class, and accused him of proselytizing for Jesus. The teacher, in danger of losing his job strenuously denied it. The specifics of the controversy lead directly to the church & state arguments that are in the news. With Stephen Colbert, Alan Dershowitz, Neil deGrasse Tyson and others. Please feel free to stream, download, share, and embed the film for non-commercial use. Great documentary!

Does anyone know the author and title of the instrumental music at the begin?

I'm glad you liked the film. Please tell your friends. The theme music was royalty-free, "needle-drop," and I unfortunately forget the name.t

haha have to love americans talking about God bless america.... give me a break, the usa is founded on murder, rape, exploitation, greed etc etc Europeans settled there and basically wiped out a race and took their land for more comfort for themselves, whether that's right or wrong is one thing, but please don't say america was founded on christian principles!

Well, in a way it was. Genocide, rape, pedophilia, slavery, racism -- all condoned in the tribe-first book that is the Bible. "Manifest Destiny," which reduced Native Americans to either casino owners or the biggest recipients of welfare, was strictly religious. The belief that people were spoken into existence gave white slavemongers justification that the blackamoor was created expressly to serve. Every evil in America's past had religious justification. It still does.

Isn't it interesting how Christians have no problem lying when it supports their cause.

I honestly can't think of anything scarier than an entire fucking town of uneducated, ignorant bible nuts. To speak anything about religion in a PUBLIC SCHOOL, is a direct violation of the first amendment. Period. End of story. There is no further argument. How can so many Americans be so incredibly stupid and/or ignorant? Kind of scary :/

It seems to me like the teacher is trying to paint a picture of himself as some kind of victim, or more, a "martyr." It's almost like pretentious humility. A form of arrogance.

LaClair appears to be more level-headed, articulate, and more intelligent than pretty much everyone else in this documentary. Good stuff, overall.

This kid sure is all for freedom of expression and speech when he doesn't want to stand for the pledge of allegience (which is FINE btw, if he doesn't want to stand then he doesn't need to stand)... but once the freedom of speech is exercised by somebody with an opposing belief (after he was ASKED to give it) all of a sudden it's some huge deal, and oh-so-horrible. What a hypocrite. Go call the waaaahmbulance, kid. The teacher stated his beliefs, he didn't say YOU must believe this.

Put a Christian and a Muslim, each praying to their God with eyes closed, next to each other and at least one of those people is talking to himself...chances are it's both of them.
