@hockygoalie3031 the guy below me states to do this on a soft surface but mens health did a study and their result was that impact on hard surfaces to a degree are beneficial to the bones in your feet (makes them stronger, more durable)

good points except shin splints are fixed by pushing them harder

as a hockey player. when he goes up the ladder from side to side, I bend my legs more so im closer to the skating position. i also emphasize the push off a lot more on the quad

NOTE: To Youth and High School athletes. It's best to do agility ladder drills on a fairly SOFT surface (such as outside on grass), to reduce the impact on your joints, and avoid possible injuries such as shin splits, ACL, Achilles, etc. Continued repetition is required for excellence in these drills.
Also, this instructor needs to be providing ALOT more verbal explanation of proper technique, instead of just showing off.
