I love the Obama references. If you think about it, it was the Bush administration which leased the Cape Canaveral site (Air Force) back in 2007. SpaceX has already successfully launched two Falcon 1 (single engine) for commercial satelites, and this rocket was already completed before Obama was president. Just the facts. Go SpaceX -- I want in on the IPO!

@crumcon It wouldn't be a waste of taxpayer money. It would be possibly the best thing for our nation, especially at a time like now. To understand why watch Neil DeGrasse Tysons commentary on the effect of NASA. He explains it quite well.

In any case I'll just say that if we wait until the time is right to undertake such a monumental feat, it will NEVER happen. This I can assure you. That kind of thinking is not how great things are accomplished. It's what leads to decay and death.

So far Obama has cancelled the Constellation Program, leaving us with no means to send humans into space. We'll have to rely on the Russians.

Funny how we went from landing men on the moon to needing Russia just to get to LEO.

Obama will succeed JFK when he vows to send men to mars before the decade is out AND gives NASA as much money as needed to make it happen.
