__Budget and justification. The need/use for every item on the budget must be explained briefly on the budget. State all sources of funding you have received or are applying for to support your project.

Division III Funding Applications must include:
__Your Div III Chair must sign the budget.
__Div III Contract - a copy of the filed contract, obtained from the HUB. (Screen print the HUB pages, don't paste the text into a document.)

__Div II Evaluation or, if the evaluation is not not yet on the HUB, a letter from your Div II Chair and examples of Div II course evaluations (printed from the HUB).
Division II Funding Applications must include:

Reporting Requirements
Recipients of research grants agree to:
1. Write two brief (1-2 pages) reports: a progress report at the mid-point of the project and a final report covering the results of the project or research and personal significance of the experience. Papers, published abstracts, or notices of the work should be attached to the reports.
2. Present their findings at the annual CBD student poster session.
3. Provide an abstract of the work, which will be posted on the CBD website.
4. Respond to post-graduation follow-up surveys of CBD graduates.
Post-grant Agreements and Procedures
1. All equipment and remaining supplies become the property of Hampshire College. All equipment will be tagged as property of Hampshire College.
2. For projects requiring IRB approval, funds will not be released prior to approval.
3. All expenditures require prior authorization by Paula Harmon
4. ANY variation from the original budget during the course of the project requires submission of a revised budget before the expenses will be authorized.
5. Unused funds revert to the CBD at the end of the final term of the proposed project.
Evaluation Criteria for Proposals
1. The primary criterion is the intellectual merit of the proposed work, including the likelihood of significant results and publication or other forms of public presentation, and the degree to which the project engages with the issues and goals of the CBD program.
2. The quality of the student's previous work and preparation for the proposed project.
3. The demonstrated necessity of the budget items, as justified in the proposal.
