I stood on the battlefields some almost 3 years ago and felt something I have never felt before in my life. It's hard to explain, but all I can say overall is that there is just a different 'feel' to the place. I have since become a scholar of the war and its tragedies. And we should not be arrogant to believe that such a division, likely over partisan politics, could not occur again in our generation or the one to follow...

@longfootbuddy ... there is absolutely nowhere else in the world that is more free than the country we're in right now. I agree with you that it's not perfect. Taxes suck, of course they do. But again, my point is, how do you feel we could make this country better? By eliminating all taxes? Getting rid of government completely? Who would pay for new highways, buildings, schools, hospitals? How would we defend ourselves in times of war with no military? I'd really like to hear what your plan is.

@longfootbuddy ...dude, I've honestly had a great life in this country, and I can't ask for anything more. Had a great childhood, grew up around supportive people, had the choice to pursue the career path I wanted. There are people in so many other countries in the world who will never have the same opportunities I did, so I can't complain. I cannot speak for you though, because maybe you've had a different experience in this country. You're entitled to your opinion, but I simply do not agree.
