@digbycurrents 1: Taxed for what? Vehicle Excise Duty (what people call road tax) is a polution tax... electric cars pay nothing.
2: Cyclists and pedestrians pay council tax, out of which road repairs are funded.
VED doesn't pay for the roads, it goes into the same pot as income tax, etc.
3: See above.
Bicycles have a right to the road too... have a little consideration.

1. Most cyclists have a taxed vehicle at home, they just don't use it as much.
2. Motorists are being subsidised by the rest of us to the tune of about 30p a mile: the fuel and road taxes don't cover the costs of the road network.
3. The lowest emissions cars don't have to pay anything and a bicycle is a thousand times less polluting.

LOL another sad cyclist. pay road tax then maybe your point will be valid.

You could have cycled in primary position, further out in the road, preventing the overtake, but this is invariably difficult to achieve with safety when there's a speeding traffic coming up from behind. I would have done same as you.
it's only a 7.5t lorry. These can be driven on a car license by anyone who pased their test before 97? thats why the driving standard in usually poor.

1) Every vehicle should be taxed including bikes
2) Motorists are tax payers as well as motorists so they're paying twice.
3) Cyclists have special lanes but pay fuck all for them.
