But its not a skyline.... since the next skyline would have progressively been the R35 it is instead followed by the nissan skyline G35 or here in North America it has had the skyline badges ripped off but is instead the Infinity G35. The GTR is more of a tribute to the skyline GTR's of old but holds no real connection.

@Fuchs1337 Nissan GTR is technically a "Skyline" but the name has been removed as the car has a new engine and chassis, i do know what you are saying but this is coming from Nissan themselves.

@masonizere what u mean is a Infinity G35 and G37, its a part of the company but not a real nissan skyline, and it is a skyline... nissan boss called it the new skyline will be faster and better than all the others, it is a skyline, look at the rear lights, the whole form of the car is based on skyline, and still the nissan boss called it skyline

It's not a true skyline cuz it wasn't derived from a skyline (g35/g37). It was made from the ground up. If it was a REAL "Skyline" GT-R it woulda been a G35/37 coupe with AWD, TT, and minor body mods and more performance oriented interior

no its simply called the GTR
skyline purists call it the GTR35
but according to nissan its not a skyline because in japan they have the g35 g37 which is badged as a skyline, but there is no GTR trim line available
