A wonderful piece by this composer.

I am just discovering the music of the Spanish composers, strange because I've lived in Spain all my life.
I was amazed when I heard this concerto for the first time, I hope you have the same reaction!

Please vote for Isaac Albéniz in "The Public's Favorite" here at: www.youtube.com/earthatic or at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwlQBbHtBQk He deserves a place!

Enjoy the music!

Spanish classical music does not have anything to envy to the great Europeans as Mozart.

  • Who is the performer in this recording? Is it Alicia de Larrocha? I would really like to know!

  • 高校生の頃、24年前、よく聴きました。ロマンチックな曲ですよね!(^^) FMラジオを録音して何度も何度も聴きました。

  • bon courage j'en suis a 80 rien qu'en romantique

  • Excellent. Since discovering the plethora of piano concertos, I have decided to retire all the very commonly played. I never ran into these musical pieces in the conservatory. I went to the American Conservatory College in Chicago, Illinois, USA>

  • Hey Reuben, do you know the name of the orchestra and conductor on this recording? thanks! :)

  • what's the name of the pianist? thx

  • If not familiar with it, you need to check out his "Rapsocia espanola," as arranged by Cristobal Halffter and recorded by the incomparable Martha Argerich. It is included on an Eloquence CD, Londoin's economy brand. The disk includes more music by Spanish composers, such as Turina, Montsalvatge, and Surinach. Marvelous music!

  • It's a great Concerto. In Spain we have a very important Piano Concertos repertoire but sadly they don't appear very often in concert programes. I have recorded some very interesting unknown Concertos by Spanish composers like Surinach, Lamote de Grignon, Nin.-Culmell or Montsalvatge.

  • FINALLY! After 12-13 years of listening to this in MIDI format, I hear a real orchestra and pianist performing it! Wow! It's VERY BEAUTIFUL!

I've been wanting a CD of this concerto but it's not available in stores here in the USA. I want the full score, but it's not available for purchase in print (only for rent :( ).
