Touching, tender, humorous and honest, «HILDA» is my tribute to all grandmothers an ode about life and love.

Equipped with a digital camera and pebbles in his pockets to balance the camera in the roughest nooks and crannies as his tripod, Alfonso travels to the heart of Sierra Morena to connect with his grandmothers heart. They are divided by 70 years time but only a breath of space. His contact with Hilda made her feel so young again that at times it closed the age gap.

She is taken in by the camera, in video mode, which depicts her just as she is, and takes her back to her first memories, when she was 4 years old.

A digital camera, a lithium battery and a memory card was the only equipment used in shooting the film. None of the moments captured were planned nor previously rehearsed. There werent any scripts; all of the conversations were spontaneous. There also wasnt any special or artificial lighting, make up or wardrobe. Everything that happened was done on the fly and later edited by the storyteller himself.

A movie of contrast, Hilda is an ode to life and love. It represents several genres, defining itself as a surreal and tragicomic short film documentary. Deep down, reality involves tragedy, humor and surrealism in every act of life. Or perhaps it just depends on the camera angle.

Provisto de una cámara fotográfica digital y unas piedrecitas en los bolsillos para nivelarla en los recovecos más abruptos a modo de trípode, Alfonso viaja al corazón de Sierra Morena para unirse con el corazón de su abuela.
Sesenta años les separan en el tiempo, pero sólo un suspiro en el espacio. Al encontrarse, Hilda rejuvenece tanto que apenas les distancian unos instantes.

Se deja seducir por esa cámara fotográfica que, en modo video, la retrata en semejante estadio, y regresa al momento en que tenía cuatro años, al primero de sus recuerdos.

Una cámara de fotos digital, una batería de litio y una tarjeta de memoria son los únicos medios con los que fue grabada. Ninguno de los momentos recogidos en esta película está planificado ni ensayado previamente. No existe guión alguno, todas las conversaciones son espontáneas, así como no se utilizó refuerzo de luz artificial alguno, maquillaje o aderezo especial. Todo lo que ocurre está captado al vuelo y más tarde editado por la misma mano del conductor de la historia.

Película de contrastes, Hilda es una oda a la vida y al amor.
Contiene varios géneros, definiéndose como cortometraje documental tragicómico surreal.
Porque en el fondo, la realidad encierra mucho de trágico, de cómico y de surreal en cada acto de la vida.
O igual sólo depende del ángulo de cámara.
