Amtrak Regional 66 with 2 Private cars (RARE CATCH!!!)

Morning rush hour trains in Providence RI, Amtrak Regional 66 had 2 Private Pullman cars, the "Salisbury Beach a former B & M car" and "Pacific Sands which is a Union Pacific Car"

They are part of the Salisbury Beach Rail Trip occasion known as the "2009 Great Circle Trip to Boston"

This train started on July 3rd attached to the headend of of the Sunset Limited and is headed for Chicago.

i'm wondering why the regional train was directed to track 3, and then an acela express train comes? I don't know if it was that departure where the regional train left south station 5-10 minutes before the acela express train left? I also assume that the private cars belonged to some rich people traveling by train in their own railroad cars.

Well cause you had several trains around this time. Regional 95 left South Station 10 mins before the acela. So 95 would usually come in first on track 3 and wait there for the Acela to get ahead of him there. The reason its on 3 is because you also have Regional 66 which arrives at 7:04, but usually he pulls in around 6:45-6:50. So it makes sense so he has a straight shot to on track 2

Good Catch!!!! I love to see private cars on the back of the regionals. Dude youshould go to old saybrook for a whole day and watch trains. I tell u this ull see alot of Amtrak SLE and P and W. Maybe a track car or a piece of MOW being moved. Heck if ur lucky enough a work extra
