Girl Trouble are one of those long-running Northwest institutions like Dead Moon or the Walkabouts that are easy to take for granted -- not just because they've been around (seemingly) forever, but because they've stuck to their musical guns through thick and thin...and grunge and electronica and every other musical style to hit the scene since. Formed in Tacoma in 1983 -- although they didn't actually play their first gig until 1984 -- they're still growing strong in the 2000s and feature the same inimitable personnel: 6'5" Kurt P. Kendall ("the tall one") on vocals and saxophone, Bon Von Wheelie ("the grouchy one") on drums, shades-sporting Kahuna ("the volatile one") on guitar, and Dale Phillips ("the other one") on bass.

  • maaaaaan...there for awhile, there were TONS of bands like this coming thru Houston TX...now, we just get shit, SHIT! They tore down all our cool places and now it's a Douche Convention...BRING BACK ROCK DAMMIT!...I miss the early 90's, not the smell, but definately the sound

  • Living in Seattle, I heard everyone put down Tacoma. I later moved halfway between the two cities and after multiple trips I found downtown Tacoma and a lot of the older surrounding neighborhoods (not new suburbs) were far cooler than most of what Seattle has going on.

  • @ds3kah Thumbs up to you sir!

  • haaaaaaaaay

  • The one person who dislikes this video smokes crack in Seattle.

  • @TheRedHedCEO2011 -good rock is still around, you just need to go to a local club or record store to find it. It isn't on MTV/Vh1 anymore, and that's a damn good thing.

  • WOW! I was sittin on the bridge just above the AASRCO chimney when it went down that morning...AWESOME song & vid.!

  • Moved back to NW in 1989- bad year if you don't like grunge (yeah, burn me at the stake, I am the one person in Seattle who doesn't give a shit about nirvana or pearl jam). But there was sooo much 60's inspired garage go go music, punk, and rockabilly going on that I went out 4-5 nights a week. I guess I hoped it would always stay that way, but it hasn't. I'm glad GIRL TROUBLE is still around, that the SONICS reunited, and that I had a tiny bit in this video dancing my ass off.

  • someone has the lyric for this song?!?!?!

  • nice (y)
