"For many years Charles Templeton (1915-2001) was the second string to the boring racist charlatan Billy Graham: addressing massive crowds in sports stadiums and allegedly bringing thousands of
credulous to Christ, there came a time when he found he could not participate in the racket any longer."
From Christopher Hitchens, The Portable Atheist.

  • Apparently someone has overlooked the consequence sin brought into this world... perhaps someone should read Genesis 1-3 all over again. What saddens me most of all is that this man confessed with his own lips that he missed Jesus... such is the tragedy of apostasy. I would encourage you that the solution to atheism is faith... just a mustard seed's worth will move the mountains of doubt from your view to embrace the truth of God's Word.

  • These are the question of a supposedly intelligent atheist?

  • @SouthrnatHeart "The fool says there's no God." It's great that you suggest someone prays, but if they do not believe in Christ, to whom would they be praying? When a person begins to ridicule my faith in God and Jesus as my Savior, I end with them and leave with "Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." My heart definitely aches for Templeton and the likes, but we're all given the same opportunity. Just pray for these people...

  • Why call names? Billy Graham has stood for what he believes. He has never been a racist but he has always been a man of conviction. Is it wrong to live a life that reflects your world view? Nobody calls Templeton names. They express disagreement and sadness over the direction his life has gone but nobody calls him names. If you don't like him, then just leave him alone and go about your business. He would never treat you with disrespect just because you reject his message. Why bash him?

  • these are very simple questions that can be answered.

  • Templeton seemed to be missing something...yearning for something at the end of his life. Check out Lee Strobels' books sometime if you get the chance. They are pretty good reads.

  • @mrpayne123 I still have to find out about Sweden and Norway being agnostic/atheist but Japan? You should check your facts.

  • @rgs11 Can you send me you arguments for God, that apparently atheists don't understand, in a private message?

  • @rgs11 Also, One reason I don't believe in Yahweh is he gives unjust laws. He also commands genocide of men, women, children, animals, but tells Israelites to keep the virgin women and plunder for themselves.

Surely an all knowing God would know witches don't exist, yet for some odd reason Yahweh commands people to kill witches( Exodus 22:18). Today in just one state of Nigeria up to 15000 children are branded witches.

Why'd God put something in the Bible that is so wrong and problematic?

  • @rgs11 My point was there is no correlation in the statement you made that atheists don't believe b/c of their lifestyle. And actually the crime stats in more atheistic countries show the exact opposite. And there are much less atheists in jail compared to general population. It doesn't disprove God at all, but it provides strong evidence that your claim of atheists being less moral is false. I think we should carry this into a private mssg. bc it is too complicated to flush out here.
