  • Update: Dad was just asked to come back and direct Beautiful Savior at Midland University again...homecoming I think. I'll update with details for all alumni.

  • This year the choir is near full strength with close to 60 singers. They sound marvelous, having just performed at a community-wide event to raise funds for the Love-Larson Opera House. It is sad we lost music as a major, but we still have an excellent music program at Midland University.

  • @TrCeam68940 That's wonderful to hear! I heard also through my father that the current music director is working very hard to rebuild the department at Midland University. We wish him all the best and our support along the way!

  • Please share with all choir alumni you know. I have so much more to share with all of you in video and photos from that incredible week. Many Blessings, Laurie Nelson Alexander

  • this is beautiful my father is an alumni from around 1963 and also I was born in Fremont nebraska when my dad was a graduate of central lutheran seminary

  • who in the world could dislike this?

  • I’d like to know where to get this sheet music. We sang this arrangement in high school 40 years ago. Our choir director was a Concordia graduate so we sang a lot of Dr. Christianson’s music. Music departments like yours leave an unbelievable impact on our communities...even a half century later and that’s not exaggerating! I’m so sorry that it had to end for your school.

  • I totally aggree

When I attended back in 85 and 86

there was the threat of ending the music dept but they didnt go thru with it

Its a shame they did now

  • I just heard Concordia College Alum sing this, they were great!

  • Midland has indeed lost its heart and soul with the termination of the talented music faculty and the music major....what a tragedy....and this was a choir that sang at Notre Dame cathedral and was a direct "child" of the great St. Olaf choir. They have no idea what they've done....

  • I too sang with the MLC College Choir, chamber choirs, graduated with a music education degree, and then came back for a short time as adjunct professor of voice. It's too bad MLC terminated all of the good music faculty and the music major. They'll never get any money from me again.
