Memorial Day Tribute to members of the United States Armed Forces who now rest in peace in Arlington National Cemetery - set to the song - "Arlington" by Trace Adkins - In honor of the Fallen Heroes of the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Reserves. All gave some, some gave all. These are the men and women who bought our freedom at the price of their lives. We give thanks to those who made the ultimate sacrifice and pray for the loved ones they left behind.

Lyrics:
I never thought that this is where I'd settle down
I thought I'd die an old man back in my hometown
They gave me this plot of land,me and some other men, for a job well done
There's a big white house sits on a hill just up the road
The man inside he cried the day they brought me home
The folded up a flag and told my mom and dad
'We're pround of your son'

And I'm proud to be on this paecful piece of property
I'm on scared ground and I'm in the best of company
I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done
I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones, I made it to Arlington

I remember that my daddy brought me here when I was eight
We searched all day to find out where my granddad lay
And when we finally found that cross
He said, 'son this is what it cost to keep us free'
Now here I am a thousand stones away from him
He recongized me on the first day I came in
And it gave me a chill when he clicked his heels and saluted me

I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property
I'm on scared ground and in the best of company
I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done
I can rest in peace I'm one of the chosen ones, I made it to Arlington

And every time I hear twenty-one guns
I know they brought another hero home to us

We're thankful for those thankful for the things we've done
We can rest in peace, 'cause we were the chosen ones
We made it to Arlington, yea, dust to dust
Don't cry for us, we made it to Arlington

  • freedom is worth fighting for but is it worth killing for just think about that

  • @TheMacklinN Well, TheMacklinN, that is one of the STUPIDEST statements I have seen in a long time. When people fight for freedom, they are not just playing games, they are playing for keeps! When you fight to protect freedom, people die on both sides. That is the way war is. Welcome to the real world.

  • at 3:20 what is with the horse and leg?

  • anyone else have that one person in their memory they think of everytime they hear this song?

  • In my view, America’s military personnel are the best in the world, and as a British man I am immensely proud of the fact that my nation still has many thousands of troops in Afghanistan fighting alongside our American brothers, doing everything possible to destroy the evil, misogynistic Taliban and the murderous Al-Qaeda. As a matter of fact, aside from the United States, Britain still has more troops in Afghanistan than every other nation in the world put together.

  • I was one of the lucky ones who made it home safely. A lot of my buddies died defending our great country, and we honor their memory with this song.

  • God bless your uncle he was very brave...... very sorry for your loss. i am in the young marines and want to go to the marines when i am older

  • Patrick Hovatter my uncle was a great man. he deserves every bit of that 21 gun salute and jet flyover come febuary.

  • my uncle was a hero he passed away last night. navy commander of patuexent naval air base. Jakob krutzfeldtz disease killed him. he was the smartest greatest man ive ever met and i love him. hes going to Alington cemetary

  • MY UNCLES IN ARLINGTON WE ARE ALL SOOOO PROUD OF HIM :)

  • @JuggaloOzi Its what it costs to stand between the innocent and the ruthless dictators and oppressors so that they may taste freedom and make a choice for themselves. Mercy for the guilty (Hussein, bin Laden, etc.) is treason to the innocent...

  • @fatkidincoat i pray for yer grandparents bud, thank y'all for keepin us free.

  • People in my school think war only affects one side and when I tell them it affects both they look at me like I have three heads. I understand war more then anyone in my school. And when they ask why people have wars I tell them that it's part of human nature and cannot be changed and they don't understand that. It's a sad and terrible truth. I've often considered joining the navy because I want to keep my friends and family safe and happy.
