Cass and Frankie 1990--Saving Rachel and Saving Us

Cass and Frankie are tied up back-to-back on the dirt floor of the helicopter hangar, their wrists tightly bound by the ropes. They hear the helicopter take off, and Frankie yells, "PIG!" Frankie and Cass start working to get out of this mess, and speculate that the man who tied them up is with Ken Jordan. Frankie says that the man did want that chopper awfully badly. Cass points out that he knew exactly where he was going, because he didn't search Cass and Frankie for a map. Maybe he went out to get Ken Jordan. Frankie asks Cass if he thinks the man killed the pilot. Cass doesn't think so, because he thinks if the man had killed the pilot, he would have killed them too. Cass thinks the man flew the helicopter himself instead of having the pilot do it because Ken Jordan doesn't want any witnesses. Frankie asks why. Cass replies that suppose Jordan found some artifacts in the desert that he wanted to bring back unreported. Frankie agrees that that could be the case, since there's an awful lot of stolen art changing hands in Bay City. Or, Cass continues, suppose Ken and his pal wanted to get out of there in a hurry and leave Rachel behind. Frankie is horrified at the thought of Rachel being left alone in the desert in the middle of a storm. Cass says they don't know what Ken Jordan is capable of doing, but if the goon who tied them up is any indication of the kind of friends he keeps, Rachel is in big trouble. Frankie says they have to get out of there, and Cass replies that that's what he's working on. Frankie says that the ropes are a little looser and she can move. Cass tells Frankie that there's a china lamp over on the desk, and if they schooch over to it, maybe Cass can knock it down and they can get something sharp enough to get the ropes. Frankie tells Cass she's impressed with his plan. Cass replies that it's about time, then asks her if she's ready. When she says yes, they schooch over to the desk, and then Cass tells Frankie to lean forward a little and give him a solid base. It takes him three kicks to get the lamp on the floor and one more to break it. "Not bad, Winthrop," Frankie says. They then use a shard of glass from the lamp to try and cut the ropes, but it's not working. When Cass complains about Frankie's bracelets being embedded in his flesh, she asks him if he can feel her charm bracelet. When he says yes, she tells him that she has a tiny Swiss Army knife on the charm bracelet. Cass finds the knife and gets it open and asks Frankie if he's ever told her she's a genius. She replies that he can tell her when they get out of there in time to save Rachel. Cass says he's more concerned about he and Frankie getting out of there in time to save themselves. There's no telling when that goon will come back. Cass cuts the ropes with Frankie's Swiss Army knife, and they then head out to find another helicopter and pilot, hoping they're not too late to save Rachel and the first pilot.
