The main house situated at Granite Creek Marina - Priest Lake went up in flames. It sat on the site of the original business started 4 generations ago in 1931 as a fishing rersort renting boats to tourists. Over the years it has been a restaurant and bar before evolving into the marina operation that it is now. Fire fighters from around the area as well as fire boat contained the flames to the building as they protected surrounding out buildings and trees. The location has been a crossroads for decades for tourists, locals and, for 10 years (1947-1957, was a tavern catering to lumberjacks in the area. This totally destroyed building was built on that tavern location in '47.
Matt ... Hope you check in every once in while on the post. Sorry to hear about the main house ... A Grand Ol' Place it was indeed. It's been years of course but I too have fond memories ... Peace. C Branstetter

That is right across from where our cabin is (we're on the East shore). My grandparents bought (or rented, I'm not sure) a "cabin" right on Granite too, and I think we used to store our boat there when my grandparents first bought our property in 58. We used to get the newspaper there when I was a kid too. Shame. :(
