An average Devil May Cry clone.

There isn't anything particularly exceptional about Swords of Destiny. It is a hack 'n slash action adventure with uncomfortable controls, poor level design and a rather laughable attempt at character depth and story.

This all comes of a surprise to me as Artoon, developers of Swords of Destiny, formed out of the old Sonic Team development staff, and unlike other Sega turn-coats, they've not been capable of producing the same caliber of games since.

Swords of Destiny can be found in bargain bins quite accessibly today, especially for a post 2005 Playstation 2 release. Despite this, I suggest you ignore it completely.

  • Is there a hard difficulty to be unlocked? I've heard this game is too easy

  • @AllanSanches Yes there is. The game is fairly straightforward so completing it isn't hard.

  • Looks like there's some fun here.

  • @ebbderelict Swords of Destiny is a little too repetitive for my liking. It also has some rather average level and character designs with not very exceptional presentation values either. Besides that, the controls feel off somewhat. It is odd how Artoon messed up on this one because, of all the renegade developers that split from Sega, they've been the worst of the lot since.

  • Its on ps3 know....i'm seeing if its any good!!!!!

  • I have this game myself, and I found it rather easy. Around Stage 10 and onwards, you fight these big mooks. Once you knock them down, you can keep slashing at them and it will continually knock them down to rack up a good hit multiplier and they will never be able to land a hit on you.

  • hmm, not bad, but still the combos in Devil May cry is always Better and the BEST

  • this doesnt look bad

  • I had this game and I didn't like it at all. Not that bad but still wouldn't get it again.

  • that fighting system looks pretty cool
