Horse Forced to Compete at Belmont

Nite Light (with jockey John Velazquez) was treated forcefully to race at the Belmont Stakes against his will. PETA is looking for reform in racetrack surfaces, banning drugs, and asking for age increase when the horses' bones have fully developed.

Do you idiots really think that 5 or 6 men have a chance against a horse that REALLY doesn't want to do something? They were obviously coaxing him, not forcing him. You can't force a horse to do anything. PETA is also responsible for all the horses on the auction market now that belong in slaughterhouses due to their violent personalities ?? How many mustangs will die because of the lack of owners able to care for them?? Go away PETA. You had a good idea and got the big head and blew it.

If you knew anything about horses, you would know this is not a horse who doesn't want to race. Horses are claustrophobic by nature, and some of them do not like a starting gate. Stop attacking a sport that has been around for nearly 300 years and do something better with your time. If you think a horse is forced to run, you are just naive. If a horse doesn't want to run..HE WON'T! Police Dogs are "forced" to do what they do, any they face criminals with weapons and guns, racing is is a sport!!

any one who says "hes grabbing his ear!!" obviously doesnt have any horse knowledge at all! chill out he wasnt hurting it, its just a way to keep the horses head down so its not dangerous.

@Thehorselover32 they arent pulling on the horses ear..... they are holding it down which is a way to get the horse to calm down and keep its head down. Its used when horses could be dangerous. We used to have to do it to my morgan while she was getting her feet trimmed because she used to bite, it just kept her focused and calm.
