Hello again, my friends. The responses to the previous video have been overwhelmingly positive, and as such, I wanted to get another one recorded to showcase some additional workflow tips between PPro and DSLR cameras.

One small caveat here: my screen capture has some glitches. This isn't entirely the fault of my capture program, but more than likely the fact that I'm running everything (OS, Apps, all HD-DSLR Footage) from the internal drive, and trying to capture my screen at a higher frame rate was just causing iShowU to freak out a little! ;p I tried to fix a few areas, but you may notice a few instances where my cursor and the 'sound' are a little out-of-sync, but again, I think you'll get the idea.

In this short video, I'll show you how to use the new Ultra Keyer in Premiere Pro CS5 to pull quick keys from your footage, even with unevenly lit green screen. Once again, the 'key' here (ha ha) is the fact that I'm running this process without rendering, leveraging the Mercury Playback Engine solely in software mode.

Following Ultra, we'll take a look at the Time Remapping feature (using a mixture of 60fps and 24fps footage), and then showcase the new Export Frame option, which very quickly allows you to extract a still from your video and continue working on it in Premiere Pro or even Photoshop CS5.

  • is there a way you can control the speed play back with a slider? i know you can do this in after effects but its been a while since i used these programs

  • The slowmotion looks so smooth compared to final cut is that beacuse u filmed it in 60 fps ? and one more question if i record som footage with the gopro how do i convert the files to edit them in premiere in the highest quality possible ? :) great video btw

  • Hi I don't like your Chin please Shave it :D by the way your videos are amazing !! :D

  • Thanks, this was a very good tutorial.

  • i love how in the description you said my friends hahahaha what friends you fucking tool! bahahahaha

  • @Jgip247 you need a nicer computer bro! I would never ever recommend editing on a laptop. Especially not CS5 because it requires 64bit. Most likely you do not have enough ram to playback and edit. What I would recommend is literally close very program you are not using when editing.

    Good luck!

  • Man I need SERIOUS help with this program... Im running this off of a laptop to and Im having trouble with playback..what settings do you have it on so it plays back so smoothly..because my video's are chopy at times..especially when I had effects

  • how can i put this green screen around someone ?

  • Hi, You have such great videos! I'm kinda on a budget, what is the best cheap video card for Premiere Pro CS5?

  • @eisontv you'll have better results with a lens with a <2 aperture. 50mm f/1.8 is a good, affordable lens
