  • Someone had mentioned that this fixture had a "Knight Rider" chase/scanning effect. Is this true? If so, is there video of it anywhere? Thanks in advance.

  • @produkshunhowse : I don't recall seeing a Knight Rider chase, but there's one that's a bit more like a run way chase if you get my meaning. However, you should be able to program a Knight Rider chase usinig a DMX control pretty easy.

  • @sleeperawaken36 Thanks sleeperwaken. I know the DMX protocol relatively well, but I think to duplicate the desired effect with trailing fade may prove to be tedious. I'll have to look into it more. Also, I haven't yet found a price for this unit. Any ideas of MSRP?

  • @produkshunhowse: Pssl, Guitar Center, Musiciansfriend, among many others have it. Google for Chauvet Colorstrip and it will pop up everywhere. Price looks to be $229 going rate. Or you can try Ebay for a better deal.

  • Hey if you guys could only bring one party light to a house party which one would you bring?

  • The point of the Mega Pixel is that it has individual control of each block of LEDS through a DMX controller, the colorstrip only can change the color of the entire fixture, red, green, or blue, all blocks of LEDs are turned on and off at the same time. So, if you really want to be able to control the brightness of the light, u need the mega pixel so u can activate less blocks for less light. MP is More customizable for light shows.

  • @muckypops : So if you were using colorstrips for uplighting walls, and thought it would be nice to have the light output more blended on the wall, would it be silly to put a filter on it to soften and blend the light more? Or would you just say, "whatever, I'll not lift a finger to make it better"... which is fine, but for those who have an application where they would like to blend it more, it's a good idea. For someone to blindly make a comment about it being "Silly", is just silly...

  • @muckypops : so if you wanted a softer, more blended effect for your particular application, it would be silly to dim the light with a filter? If you want it at full strength, then sure, it would be silly to put a filter on the light. I think it's silly for people to make comments on something without reading or understanding what they are commenting on. The in some cases the point might be to dim the light, mostly I think it is to soften and blend the light better, for those that prefer.

  • @produkshunhowse I just picked up a pair of these (the big ones) for $155 each at Amazon. Look around and you can catch them on sale. Musiciansfriend currently has the Diamondstrip (all white leds) on sale for $159.

  • @sleeperawaken36 I agree with BCE. Silly to dim the light. These lights are awesome.
