If you love French cinema then this 1995 "A Journey Through French Cinema" documentary is for you. It features contributions from Claude Sautet, Claude Miller, André Asséo, Pierre Billard, Alain Corneau and Pierre Lestringuez.
The legendary Michel Legrand provides the music and the whole thing is edited by Yves Deschamps. This excerpt (extracted from a VHS copy - apologies) showcases some of the beautiful sequencing they've created.
This clip is just a PREVIEW and is not part of the whole film.
This film narrated by Anthony Valentine must be the best ever documentary celebrating the 100 years anniversary of cinema francais. Just listen to the clever and fabulous accompanying sound track music of Michel Legrand. I video recorded the film from the BBC channel at the time and since must have watched it dozens times. Sadly the video recorder died on me last year and all Ive got now is this tiny clip. Ive been unable to obtain the DVD. Thanks for the posting.
