Felix is a resident of the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. He is only 4 months old (at the time of this video) and so he still gets two bottles of formula a day. He is a rescued lamb that was brought to the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary where he can spend the rest of his days being a sweet and peaceful lamb along with all of the other rescued animals, and receiving all the care and love he needs. We don't know exactly what happened to him, but he is missing one of his back legs. It seems to have gotten chewed off by a predator or taken off in some kind of accident. In shock and pain, it is surmised that is why he bit his tongue in half. He was being sent to slaughter even though this is not usually done to baby lambs, probably because in the world of raising livestock for food, there is no expense made for veterinary care. A woman saw him, wounded and being loaded off a truck, and was moved to try to talk to the truck driver; somehow she got him to sell her this little lamb. She then brought him to the Sanctuary. Now that his wounds have been healed, he is doing great! To find out more about WFAS and the work they do saving these sweet animals and educating people about factory farming, please go to:

  • sheep are clever stupid who shaers them

  • @shepherdewan -

The sanctuary has a humane shearer come once a year. He actually goes to other animal rescues as well as a few neighbors who have rescued sheep, and does everyone on the same day so it is economical for all. It is still a process that makes them nervous, and I feel sad for domesticated sheep because even shorn, they struggle in the heat. They are not native, originally, to areas that are so hot (why nature gave them a wool coat in the 1st place). Felix reprezents 4 sheep!
