The solar-heated Green Cone takes all cooked and uncooked food waste including meat, fish, bones, dairy products, vegetables and fruit. The Green Johanna 'Hot' composter will compost two parts cooked or uncooked food waste (including meat, fish, bones, dairy products, vegetables and fruit) to one part garden waste and produces a rich compost all year round. • There's a paper on the subject of emissions from digesters: "The Management of Household Food Waste" by Dr Alan Knipe Under the section "Operational Biogenic Emissions" in a correctly installed and used food waste digester aeorobic conditions are maintained. It states "Any small amounts of CH4 possibly produced due to a pocket of oxygen starvation would be reabsorbed and oxidised in the below ground digestion basket". Its a simple way to stop it going to landfill with all the issues that raises.
