@08EB08 with high quality American brass ammo then its okay, but cheap Russian Surplus will destroy a bare naked barrel. that said, i might buy one :)

@TexasDistortion Apparently it's supposed to be a bit more accurate without the chroming, thats probably the reason behind it.

I have a SIg p226 in both 9mm and an Sig Equinox in .40 cal plus a 522 for my kids. Super solid guns and very accurate. 1000 rds thru the 9mm with no malfunctions. Heard bad things about the 7.92....I like the caliber for busting big hogs, but the stamped metal AKs are just not real guns IMO. The milled ones are $1000 and up but not ergonomic, and don't shoulder well. I've handled the 556-R in 7.92 and am considering it. Any serious, accuracy-obsessed shooters out there who own this gun ?

Just picked up my new sig 556r cannot wait to blow rounds!!!!! I have bushmaster ar's ak's ds arms ar's, saiga conversions, nothing compares to this rifle, makes the ar15 look like a whimp! This is a must get for all tactical enthusiast! If u can't afford 1100-1300$ then get the sig 522 it's a 22lr n it will give u the experience of the 556. I love this weapon! Bring on Al Qaeda!
