The stock triggers on the Ruger 22/45s are adequate and they can shoot accurately in their stock form. But this .22 pistol comes alive with a Volquartsen Mk II trigger kit and bushing. With this installed the gun shoots faster and more accurately. Here I install and narrate the Volquartsen trigger kit for a Mk III 22/45. Along the way I remove the detent from the bolt release (for quicker reloading) and drop in the Mk II bushing which eliminates the ridiculous magazine safety in the gun. With the magazine safety gone, field stripping is greatly simplified and the mags now drop free in reloads. Work is shown in detail and explained, including the positioning of pre and over travel trigger screws. The transformation to Mk II status and removal of the mag safety can be done separately without having to install a new trigger btw. With this video you should be able to effect the install yourself and enjoy a greatly enhanced and funner to shoot 22/45. //////////////////Mk II/III installs will be similar in concept.////////////////////////Music: Original TNP production

  • @Coopershawk27 i just bought one from midwayusa

  • I bought my 22/45 and put a TacSol barrel on, but the volquartsen kit has been on backorder for months......any suggestions?

  • Very informative vid. For sure getting this kit. Could you do a vid on how you did the grips?

  • Just wanted to say thanks for this video. I'm not new to shooting, but I'm new to owning. My family bought me a Ruger 22/45 Mark III Hunter for Christmas and I was able to drop the VQ internals in without a hitch. I did forget the trigger plunger, but realized it before I put the hammer pin in. Good call nutnfancy!! Haha!

Anyway. Thanks for this and the many other videos you make. Looking forward to catching up on some more of them.

    Best

    Matthew

  • Forget it. I slowed down the video and listened better to what you said. Thanks anyways

  • Hey nutnfancy; great vids man. Question on what to buy for the mkIII 22/45. Will I be able to do what you did in this video if I buy the "Volquartsen Accurizing Kit Ruger Mark II kit and the mkII bushing? Or is it the Volquartsen Accurizing Kit Ruger Mark III kit and mkII bushing? Sorry to ask but there are too many comments to read.

  • did you ever do a video on the grip change for your 22/45?

  • I did this trigger job on my 22/45 and it is awesome. I love how smoth it all works. Thanks, nutnfancy

  • the camera man is on crack

  • First off, thank you for your FANTASTIC videos! Please keep them coming!

We're purchasing a MKIII 22/45 for the family within the next week or so, and I was wondering how much of a 'break-in' you would recommend before I void the warranty by getting rid of that disconnect.
