A visual exploration of the story of Pierrot, Harlequin and Colombine from commedia dell'arte. Images from popular culture and art history tell the story of three friends.
This piece found inspiration from Kenneth Anger's Rabbit's Moon 1950,1979. Though visually different, Harlequinade draws on a similar three characters and age-old larger themes. While Harlequinade doesn't use Anger's story, it does follow a similar art historical lineage, use of high and low and archetypes to reflect on elements of human nature.
