Fursuiting at the Ballard Locks in Seattle - Labor Day 2008

Repost of a fun video featuring a few Seattle-area furs going fursuiting on Labor Day '08, we decided to hit up Hiram M. Chittenden locks in Ballard.

This was my first public fursuit outing in my Kijani Lion suit, and I had a blast! Thankfully it was not too hot, and I held up surprisingly well after about one solid hour in suit.

This was a great venue choice with tons of tourists! We were definitely able to bring lots of smiles and happiness to children and families visiting the locks this afternoon which is really what it's all about, though I was quite nervous and not as interactive as I would have liked since it was my first time.

Ever since I joined the fandom in April 2008, I've always enjoyed watching others' public fursuiting videos. They were very inspiring to me, so it feels great to finally be able to contribute one of my own! ^_^

Featuring: Michael J. Fox, Kijani Lion, Scruffy. And Torque the dog, who had the best fursuit of us all!

@Wolfieskye Thank you, and yes that is pretty much why I love fursuiting in a nutshell. It is also a way to express yourself that you can't do normally. Even if you're in a bad mood or having a bad day, and you go out and bring joy to others it makes you feel a lot better.

Now, everytime I ask a furry their reason for dressing it's because they feel they are more like that animal than a human. What part of that seems mentally stable?

Those people are actually far on the extreme side. For the vast majority of us, we just like to go out and perform, putting smiles on people's faces and brightening their day a bit, especially children. Much the same reason actors/musicians enjoy doing gigs on stage, to get out there & entertain people. Dressing up as a cartoon animal come to life helps break down boundaries between people and bring immense joy. And its fun to give people a break from the boring, mundane everyday world ;)

I remembered the joy I felt watching other's fursuiting videos well before I got Kijani and I love being able to contribute my own now.

I'll be heading to All Fur Fun 2009 this weekend and will be sure to take a number of videos from my second convention!

Why do people hate furries. Furries are a persons alternate reality, if a person in a wheelchair has furry, that furry will be able to walk. If a person beleives that he or she is ugly, their furry will be downright gorgous. Their just jelous

I wish i knew how to make a FurSuit =/ I'd love to dress up as my character LemonsTheCat. Maybe i should make some sort of blueprint. He's an anime charcter i made up! Seriously im becoming a Furry lol! I wanna dress up and have fun with you!
