@DigitalCyborgman Their only other option was to create a small bridge across the River Tarn and then tunnel through the north plateau, there was too many environmental impacts for that to work (and tunnels are more expensive to build than bridges)
@DigitalCyborgman The bridge can make as much as $350,000 a day as a tourist attraction. That will more than cover the expense in a couple of years and then plus add tens of millions in revenue. A normal toll doesn't generate that much. further it is pushing the engineering limit further. More knowledge acquire by mankind
Millau bridge is truly a masterpiece. We are so glad that we have driven over it. Went from New Zealand to South of France to fulfil the dream.
