How safe is metrorail in Joburg these days? I've always been told that Cape Town's is largely safe, but Joburg metrorail is definitely to be avoided.

@svartmetall48 Depends on who you ask. People who don't ride will tell you it's dangerous. And they people who do ride will tell you it's ok. Personally I've had only good experiences In Joburg, Pretoria and CT

Nice one, the Joburg network is awesome and I catch metro when ever I can in Gauteng.

thanks. For me, riding the Joburg network is like a drug. Ever since the first time I went there I keep wanting to get my next fix. It is my favourite network in the world!!
