The footage shows what some people in ArmA community claims "suppressive fire". Obviously there's no element of suppressive fire tactics. The AI just shooting like other "dumb" arcade FPS.

  • You guys really need to face the fact. Or better yet, I strogly recommend you to go to psyciatric hospital. This game is advertised "ultimate combat sim" and the developer claims it's a successor of OFP - which I really loved and the greatest game ever. If you guys came from the game like BF2 or CS, I'm sure you'll be amazed. But if you know the OFP and loved "tactical" and "realistic" FPS, you'll find that this is totally unrealistic and full of pointless "realism".

  • suppressive fire only works against enemies behind cover. the scenario in your video shows soldiers out in the open who when under fire will drop prone and return fire, slowly moving towards cover.

  • After being fed up with vanilla BF2, I got ADDICTED to the Project Reality mod.

Bought ArmA hoping Id be able to play it likewise. But everything in ArmA MP has BOTS - I hate BOTS - I want to fight REAL PEOPLE does anybody know who does/how/where I can do this? A mod maybe? A clan?

It has a lot of potential as a combat sim, but NOT with AI. As PR, real people vs real people, who play tactics using VOiP.

If its not possible, id better sell the game. Looks great, but AI...waste of time.

  • i´m bored -.-

  • Bothered to play with patches yet or mods? Great job dismissing a game on its first release. OFP was far from perfect on its first release, I remember AI running into walls and having to kill them to get them to stop.

  • seen the ai in crysis then?

  • I have to agree, what really gets to me is how the AI can't even figure out that he should sprint right for that rock for cover.

OFP was at it's best with (user) combined arms missions like Facile Ground and Operation Axe-point.

The point of those missions wasn't to lead 5 idiot AI against a battallion. They were missions where you outnumbered the enemy 3 to 1 and it was your job to get everyone one of your boys home. BIS wasn't about making combat as crap as this. :|

  • Well tbh i find the a.i. a challenge, you never know where they are , and they are very accurate.

On coop servers it is realy fun and rewarding working together although it is not very often that this is the case, most play rambo style anywayz

  • You honestly have to give it a break. A.I is far from perfect in any game, especially these large-scale games.
