@MrManfly there aren't any hater blinders except yours. Semenko has no signature win against an elite NHL enforcer because he never beat one. Take a look through Plett's fights on here because you're obviously unfamiliar with him. Pumped rights into Probert's head, outclassed McSorley badly, fought Behn Wilson 5 times. Most of his clips are him fighting elite competition. All of Semenko's clips are him jumping guys from behind or getting pounded. Time for you to take the blinders off
@justice008a i never ever saw Hunter "unmercifully destroy" Semenko as you suggest, and i was at most of the games in the 80's having season tix or watching them on TV. my original point was that Sammy was the best BEFORE hunter and Proby and guys like that came along. Sammy had his fun trying to beat Hunter for sure, but the fights were HARDLY as one sided as you say, and Willy Plett was HARDLY one of the best fighters there ever was, are you serious? time to take the hater blinders off amigo.
@MrManfly Semenko's the same guy who ducked Willi Plett for 5 years until Plett got traded; the figured because Tim Hunter was 30 lbs lighter he might be able to beat another teams tough guy. Unfortunately for him Hunter destroyed him unmercifully with left hands repeatedly to the face, unanswered. Everybody who knows hockey knows this. You don't know hockey -- so I don't expect you to know -- so I need to tell you
@justice008a one thing Semenko always did was he always took on the other team's tough guys, never backed down, and gave as good as he got! anyone who knows hockey, except you, knows this.
@MrManfly 1. Wilson 2. Playfair 3. Gillies 4. Brown. Semenko isn't even in anyone's top 100. Wilson's uppercut sapped Semenko of any courage that he had -- which wasn't much. After Wilson punched him twice Semenko held on like a bad prom date who had no friends at the dance. A disgraceful display by a fraud of an enforcer. Anytime Semenko tried to fight a legitimate tough guy face-to-face he got pounded. Name 5 tough guys he ever beat and I'll name 20 others who kicked his ass.
@justice008a Ben Wilson wasn't even in the top 50 fighters. nice hug job by Wilson! did you see those fairy punches, he couldn't hurt an old lady with those.
Semenko was for the most part an imposter as a true heavyweight fighter; Behn Wilson probably top 5 all-time...... living in Edmonton at the time though, Semenko was a great policeman; most guys were scared of him just looking at him
Semenko was overrated.Never saw him win a clear(and clean) fight against a legit heavy.Hugger and cheap shotter.

semenko was NOT a very good fighter, he was dirty but he rarely beat another tough guy in a fair fight.
