Last time I heard, about Mike he did a one-off gig with the reunited Emperor. Mike and I had a duo in the late 70s that lasted about 8 or so months; playing Panama Joe's, Huck Finn's, and The Hindquarter.
"Dancing at The Lido" is a very cool song! I remember The Illusions playing a dance at St. Anthony's where I was a student, and I was playing in a group called "The Intruders." The Illusions were all older guys, and we were knocked-out! They played "Jezebel" and we all went "WOW."

Where did the song come from?
Who are the performers?
Never played there myself, but years later I worked with Mike Lobbett; Mike was the piano player for The Illusions

The song 'Dancing at the Lido', was written and recorded by Larry & Carol Ellis. Larry played guitar with The Illusions at the Lido at the Pike in Long Beach California where he met Carol and they married. He taught her to play guitar after he left the band. Mike Lobbett was in the band when they played at The Lido. He currently lives in Washington State.
