First of all......a "Piddly" .303 lifetime hitter? He hit over .300 13 times in his career. Ok, he didn't have a lot of power...so what? He and Morgan were supposed to get on base so the "Power" guys could knock them in. I doubt you even come close to doing any better.
Second. There is not one piece of evidence that links Rose to betting before he became a manager. You want to never let him back in the game...fine, but as a player, Pete Rose deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

Rose holds another record that he never gets credit for. He slid headfirst into more bases when there was no play on the base than any player in baseball history. The ball was ususally still in the outfield when he did his headfirst flying dive slides. Charlie Hustle all right. Specially wasted energy hustle for show. More like Charlie Hot Dog. He used a lot of mustard when he was playing. One of the biggest phonies ever in baseball history. A bully, a banjo hitter and a so so fielder..
