Lisa Brooks Blackstone graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in 1979 and soon transitioned to the business world as a stockbroker at the Robinson Humphrey Company.

By the late 1980s she began a family-owned and operated Arabian horse training and breeding business. Bringing her expertise in corporate finance to the horse business, she developed limited partnerships and stallion syndication for investors. Additionally, she competed on a national level in horse show competitions and earned national honors as an equestrian. Lisa engaged in the political process governing the Arabian horse industry and served as a Director on the Board of the International Arabian Horse Association in Denver, Colorado for many years. She was elected to serve on the Ethical Practices Review Board, a hearing panel adjudicating allegations of rule infractions by members within the industry. During her ten years on this panel, Lisa served as Vice-Chairman for six years, hearing cases involving violations from horse abuse to fraud,
embezzlement, theft, and bribery. Lisa received her license to judge horse shows in 1994 and continues to judge competitions internationally.

Lisa received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1997. She began her legal career as a sole practitioner, handling estate planning, commercial transactions, and civil litigation. Lisa became an associate with Blackburn, Walter & Sloan in January, 1999, and practiced as a general civil litigator focusing on domestic relations, commercial transactions, real estate litigation, real estate broker advocacy, title insurance litigation and real estate closings. She received her certification as a mediator in 1998 from Resolution Resources.

Following a fulfilling tenure with that firm, Lisa decided to go out on her own and formed Lisa B.Blackstone, LLC, focusing on real estate, estate planning and general business law. She brings her many years of legal experience as well as her heartfelt desire to provide the best client service this industry can offer to her new practice.

Lisa is a member of the Georgia Bar Association and the American Bar Association, as well the Family Law, Real Estate and Alternate Dispute Resolution sections of the state bar.
