Inventor Toby Kinkaid, co-founder of OWC, filming this clip demonstrates a sense of the enormous torque produced by the "Helyx"TM working surface. What you are hearing is the creaking of the Truck Bed to which is attached the tower base. The Turbine itself is silent.

Toby does your invention need high towers? I live close to the beach and would a Helyx work on the top of a house because there is a lot of wind and towers are unacceptable.

Oregon Wind is conducting this research now, preliminary data for this 18 foot HelyxTM wind turbine was a measured 225 Volts from a PM Alternator measured over 80 feet away. The HelxyTM wind turbine mounted on a 60 foot tower (Texas), and Demonstrated key characteristics of silent running, safe for birds and high responsivity in range of wind speeds. This model HelyxTM is design for 2.0 Kw output at rated wind speed.
