They would be better off ditching those electronic bells and repairing that real bell in front of the church.

I'd love to have an actual bell instead of electronic, and we do.. as you can well see. Before we got the electronic ones I used to go out every Sunday morning before worship and ring the real one. It got to be to much of a hassle, especially when it rains, and wasps build their nest up in the bell sometimes which causes a problem. If it weren't so expensive to get the thing moved up to the steeple and a rope to actually sway it, we'd be putting it up!

The bell actually hung in our county courthouse from 1891-1950 and some lady donated it to the church in 1976. It has an awesome sound, but it sucks to be right by it will ringing it.. definetly need earplugs.

No.. when the guys put in the system, they put the speakers under the eaves on both sides of the front entrance. They are supposed to be up on the steeple, and eventually this year they will be. If you stand right in front of the church, and the chimes come on, it will scare you to death because the sound is blown down to the ground where the speakers are now.. but like I said.. that will be fixed this year. I plan on posting more videos of our little chime system!
