This video shows the steps for installing a GGS brand LCD screen protector for digital cameras. My camera is a Canon 50D. It's a glass cover designed to keep your LCD screen free from scratches. You'll also see a before/after comparison on the Canon 50D. The video (and some audio) was shot using a Canon Digital Rebel T1i (500D). The poor-sounding audio was dubbed from a low quality PC mic (sorry!) Check http://www.nodnarb.net/post/2009/07/04/Screen-Protector-for-my-50D.aspx for the full review.

  • can oyu remove that thing if it's scratched?

i own a nikon and am not sure if i should get these plastic screen protectors or such glass one

  • @Spaeckli It's supposed to be easily removable with a flat piece of plastic, like a credit card. I've never had to remove mine, though.

  • anybody know where i can get a lcd thing for viewing it outside when it's really bright?

  • @siliconsurf Search Google for Hoodman Loupe. I have one and it works great. You can get it just about anywhere...Amazon, BHPhotoVideo, etc.

  • Is the screen protector flushed with the body of the camera or does it protrude a little bit?

  • @schmagoogly It's a thin layer of glass, so maybe a millimeter or two. You won't notice the difference.

  • great review man! I also have this on my nik d3100

  • Do not use a glass screen protector. It is extremely hard to remove it after you crack it. Trust me you will crack it. I snapped my credit card trying to remove it. Getting something like a metal ruler and pulversing the glass on where the adhesive is much easier than using a credit card

  • GR\r8 video ... very helpful ... thanks a lot for sharing the knowledge :)

  • I've never tried the GGS but I did crack a Giottos protector. Looking for an alternative to glass I came across the ACMAXX which I ordered. The ACMAXX screen protector is by far the best I've ever used, it's as clear as glass without being fragile and deals better with grease and fingerprints. Give them a try you won't regret it.

  • are they easy to take off???

  • How strong is the glass on the protector? I'm thinking about getting one but my main concern is it might break easily since it's a very thin glass.

  • Thanks for sharing mate. Very informative and helpful tute.

  • my instructions came in Chinese so had to watch this video to figure out what to do.

  • That adhesive looks like it would be a pain in the ass to remove.
