  • My dad, older brother, aunt (dad's sister) and grandmother (dad's mother) can all do those things as well. We all have arthritis and me and my brother can dislocate some of our joints. I am the only one with syncope and POTS. The others just have joint and skin symptoms... maybe stomach issues as well.

  • @sarahdionna Sounds like you guys fit the "textbook case" profile to me! Great job on your own Beighton! I hope The Driscoll Theory get you, your docs and your family on the road to recovery SOON!!! Big hug, :) Diana

  • I wasn't sure which video I should ask this question under but I figured this one might be okay. Sometimes when my stomach is in a lot of pain after eating (feels like I ate razors blades and they are passing through my digestive tract) my throat will swell up and get really tight and my mouth fills with so much salivia that I can't even swollow it so I have to spit. Could that be an allergic reaction? The swelling only lasts a few minutes but my throat will still feel sore the next day.

  • @sarahdionna Hon, that could be so many different things, but it's always smart to rule out the immediately life-threatening ones first! That would be anaphylaxis -- have you explained what happens to your doctor? Once you've got that under control, I think your GI doctor would be interested in mast cell medications to see if that is your answer. Certainly blood work is in order. Do you have EDS? Don't let them forget eosinophilic gastroenteritis and other related conditions, OK? :)

  • Oh my goodness! What is there left to eat? Ha ha. I eat these things every day! I think I can handle the "must avoid" list. The freshly cooked thing is certainly do-able, and very good to know.

  • @neartpuppy ai hope it helps! Great to hear from you, Hon.

  • I definitely have POTS and NCS and two doctors have said they think I have EDS but I am still waiting on the official diagnose from a geneticists. I can touch my thumbs to my forearm, my pinky fingers go back more than 90, my knees and elbows bend backwards, but I can't put my palms on the floor any more. I also have stretchy skin.

  • @tslu1970 That sounds like a great plan, Teri! Sometimes we can handle more than other times... Just kind of listen to your body. I had spaghetti tonight, with an anti-histamine chaser. ha.

  • @silentjealousy77 You're so welcome! Thank you for watching and WELCOME! :) Diana

  • @PrettyIll1 Okay, I watched this again, and I think that MOST of it I can totally give up, and what I can't I will take in moderation. Tomato and cheese is going to be SO hard for me, as Italian food is my favorite, lol. Maybe I can still eat a little in moderation and take extra antihistamines ahead of time. ;) You're awesome. <3 Teri
