DIRECTOR'S HAND: This is the second half of what I call a "thumbtack." In an earlier scene in Louise's apartment she washes the blue glass and puts it on the counter and exits the frame. The camera sits on the tableau of the counter with the blue glass carefully placed on the neatly folded towel. When Detective Hal comes to the apartment this same tableau is shown and it tells us that he is in her apartment.
