I have a question. My bench and other lifts typically increase about 5 pounds every week or two, but my deadlift has gone up very little in the past year. I do admit that I don't work on it as much as I should, but even if I don't do it for a while, I can still start at rather heavy weights. I also have used only hex-bar and not straight bar. I have a feeling that this might contribute, but I am gonna use the straight bar this track season. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
@jetzlers, when you say your deadlift doesnt go up as fast are you referring to your straight bar max or hex bar? Hex bar is predominantly legs, almost like a squat. Regardless, one of the best things you can do is to strengthen your posterior chain(hams, glutes, back)
@NonEvo I am referring to my hex bar max. I have only ever used the straight bar for about 5 reps. I appreciate the advice and I plan on working more on specific muscle areas this season.
