@msa1985 I don't know where Milch was going with the characters but IRL Al Swearengen (yes he was real) was found dead in the street of head injuries in Boston (at least I think it was Boston the dead in the street bit is spot on though)

@TheExposeTube That's why Cy didn't have as much power as Al. maybe in the end he might have gotten it by default once Al was killed or left but his sadistic nature always made him #2

@Abobojo Al is probably more violent, but he doesn't pretend to be anything other than he is. Cy is easily the more 'evil' of the two.
Just look at how he deals with those two young thieves. Al would have just had Dan kill them and feed them to the pigs. Cy really gets off on playing with them and fucking with Joanie Stubbs first.
