I clicked on this thinking it would be Rudyard Kipling's poem: "If you can keep your head about you, while all others are losing theirs, and blaming you... yours is the world, and all that's in it. And, what's more, you'll be a man, my son." Telly would have nailed that.
It's still better than the original record -- and better than anything "sung" by William Shatner.

Elton John's cover of the Beatles 'Lucy in the sky with diamonds' was the number one hit the week I was born. It's an unfortunate coincidence; I hate Elton John, and have pretty much completely disregarded the Beatles. I did find another gem sung by the late great Telly Savalis from later that year; he was, and will always be, more awesome than Elton John and all 5 Beatles combined.
