I remember watching the first four UFCs back in the 90s. I watched through the lens of someone who had earned meager green belts in judo, classical jujitsu, and hapkido. Royce was indubitably very impressive in all his fights in the first four UFCs. But part of me wondered if it was like playing rock-paper-scissors game when only Royce knew about paper and everyone else only knew about rock. The moment Dan tapped was the moment where I became a believer that GJJ was truly something special.
