The bugs weren't bad when I went. The juggler is my favorite.

There were US Marshals among Forest Service rangers and perhaps sheriff's deputies and state police and who knows, perhaps FBI, DEA, CIA.
-
Were those US Marshalls patrolling the camp?

Ditto. Some people in my life curse the endowment of the gifts I am blessed with. So it leaves me at times wishing I had absolutely nothing. Neti, neti (neither this nor that)!

I'm going to go next year wherever it is! My goal is to get high with a Buddhist monk.

Don't take a camera, whatever you do, or he'll run off into the forest looking for a tree to hide behind.

Great post, thank you! I visited the Gatherings in the Ocala National Forest in Florida three times in the early 1990's. I brought my Ashika drum and played at the bonfire. I established a Tobacco Kitchen, at which I welcomed the jonesing to take some DRUM tobacco to satisfy them. That brand of "roll-your-own" tobacco seemed appropriate, of course! I miss some aspects of the Gathering, and have not been back since. Blessings to all of my brothers and sisters.

I missed the bonfire as my visit was only for the day. I hope the Buddhist monk I met on the trail found the Tobacco Kitchen. He was afraid I'd take video of him smoking cigs or pot, which would put him under the scrutiny of his order if they were to find and view it. I did NOT see even one person smoking pot there, not that I'm disappointed but I was prepared for it. Peace and Love to you, Bro!

Thanks. I know I would have enjoyed it more if I had been able to spend more than a day there. So perhaps I only scratched the surface. However, my goals were met: 1) I found a YouTube friend there; 2) I got to see a healer; 3) I actually went to my first meet finally; 4) I got to shoot the LEOs at work; 5) I got to shoot some videos as requested by friends who weren't able to attend. The only thing I did NOT get to do was trade because I ran out of time and the kids kept me on a ball and chain.
