24X6 LED matrix

This is my new LED matrix, that can talk with the PC and i can write to it in real time.
The matrix is an attempt to finish my leftover LEDs from the LED cube project.
I used 3 74HC595 shift registers and a 4017 counter.

Hey this is pretty awesome, I'm quite keen to get/make one that connects to a RSS feed via a computer. Would you by any chance have any idea how to do this?

@happytodd I don't have any experience with web stuff so I have no idea how to pull the RSS feed out.

try looking in the arduino forums for an answer.

The only thing you need to worry about with this matrix is how to send the RSS feed via serial port

Nice! You should really make a video on how to make this. By the way, does anyone know how to make a potentiometer controlled led array without Arduino? I like Arduino, but this is a Christmas present, and Arduino seems too valuable to use as a volume control.
