  • i have the same problem, im going to try put the temprature up and cut their food in to smaller pieces.

  • i though it was that thye just dident like it but i started cutting it into 3rds or 4th and they ate it and not i sometimes feed then the whole stick.. i think they just need to get use to it.. buy any chance dose any1 know what the temp for the turtles is soposto be?

  • My turtle wouldnt eat anything when I first bought him until I realized that the water temperature was kind of too cold for a turtle hatchling. Raise your water temp. around 75-80F with a water heater and they will start to eat once the water gets warmed up.

  • ty for the info i need to go buy a thmo thingie :P

  • It is frozen shrimp, so when you want to feed them, just put half a shrimp in the microwave in a little water for 20 seconds, you will need to cut it in very small pieces for your turtles. you can also buy the very small shrimps they about half an inch or so.

  • when i break up the sticks into smaller pieses they eat it so i think they just dont like the big stic but like it better when it is broaken down

  • ok do this get the pellet near their mouth and nose next they should bite the do this again for a few weeks this is how i made him eat it i wish this helps

  • I have baby reptomin food 2 and my turtles took a while but once they get use to the food they will start to eat the food check out my channel 1alan81

  • ummm its 70*-75*

  • younger turtles are VERY PICKY!!! While older ones are not. Just give them a good temperature and basking lamp and a nice environment and crack the pellets into a size that they can handle. You will need to do this for about 3 months My guess and they'll get used to it and just eat it anytime even if the temperature is not at perfect. My red eared slider is abou 3 years old and today I got 2 new baby ones and it is a pain taking care of them than my 3 year old one.

  • Did you try giving it diff fruits (bananas, strawberries), veggies (carrots, lettuce), and meats (shrimp, krill, chicken , turkey, fish)? Turtles love variety! Some get tired of pellets and will refuse to eat until they starve. It is important to keep the water very warm and to let the turtle walk outside in the sun and grass or sit in warm blankets. Try these thing. Good luck.

  • the dried gamarus shrimps arent very nutritious but if your turtle became addicted to them and wont eat anything else, you can add vitamin supplements to them and they'll be fine.

  • hey, hows your turtle doing

  • heyyy in the beginning my turtles didnt eat but u should try to feeding them gammarus pellets or some kind of heathly pellets or shrimp i have wardley shrimp but turtle shrimp NOT the shrimp we eat ok ummm message back if anything k

  • I told you, for baby turtles (hatchlings) the water should be at least 78F and the Basking area 88-90F. =)
