@50zcarsman Ultimately you can believe whatever you want to believe. What I can tell you is that if there were as many human sacrifices as many believe, much more REAL evidence would exist. Where is it?? (REAL, not interpretations). Also, you can get to know descendants from many prehispanic cultures, and you will find that they are some of the most kind and pacific human beings alive. Why do you think is this??

@NasriTheNewKing Believe I recall reading that there were only some 7-8 million Indians, maximum, in all of N. America when the Pilgrims landed, falling as a result of disease, combat, and demoralization to only 250,000 by the time our Indian Wars ended in 1890. It's all conjecture (no censuses), but the Indians' methods of getting food required alot of land around each settlement -- whether in the East or West. One surprise attack by the Whites could disperse an entire tribe.

@paulocesarrs Then what of the Flower Wars -- mass ritual combats between the Aztecs and their neighbors around the Valley of Mexico, the main purpose of which was to force the defeated tribe to provide captives to be sacrificed on the great temples of Huichibolos, Huitzilipoctli, and Tlaloc? And of the Aztec's strong preference for capturing opponents in real combat alive (when it would have been tactically advantageous to kill them outright), to placate the gods w/sacrifice?

Conquistadors are exactly like the United States Army in Iraq... They think they are justice, revolusionizing/civilizing the people they are invading... trying to make others think they are justice... while actually they are a brutal and blood thirsty scourge that rape, murder, torture, and kill for self purposes (greed).
